Your 2-year old will love the programs we have put into action for them! We recognize the unique opportunity we have to minister to children when they are two years old. So many times people overlook this age, or even dread it. You have certainly heard the saying, “terrible two’s”. That statement is typically made because 2-year-olds are getting into and touching everything. They are also very familiar with the word “no.”

At this age the children are developing two main elements in their life, their senses and building trust with the people and environment they are in. With the development of their senses they instinctively want to touch, smell, and taste everything. While building trust, they have to understand their boundaries with people in their life. Be encouraged! This is a time where consistency really does matter. This allows them to believe that what we say as parents is true or will occur.

We take all of this into consideration and train our volunteers to create an environment that will support this stage of life. We keep the children moving and offer activities that promote interaction and excitement as they learn biblical principles. Listed below are the activities your 2-year-old will experience as they enjoy their time in church.

Praise
This is a great time for your 2-year-old to get some of that energy out by standing, clapping, shouting, jumping, singing, and praising the Lord. They will learn fun and interactive songs that will be enjoyable and help build their confidence. (Click here and listen to some of the music used in praise)

Story Time
At the age of two, we set time aside to begin telling your child about God, people, and events described throughout the Bible. These stories will be narrated to your child to allow them to become familiar with Him and His Word.

Crafts
Craft time is specially designed to support the Bible story and allow the children to color, stick, paste, and tape characters or items to a large sheet that they can take home. During this time, the volunteers have a chance to sit down and interact with each child. The children are encouraged to show you their craft sheet and take it home. On the back of the sheet is a brief overview of the lesson so you can enjoy talking about what they learned.

Play Time
When you arrive to the classroom, your child may experience some separation anxiety. We have creatively set-up the room by providing fun toys to assist your child in getting comfortable. If this is your first time to the church, this is a great place to sit with your child for a moment, play with a toy, and become familiar with the room and teachers. The class does not begin right away as to allow time for everyone to get settled.
